Our People

Katie Belanger, CPA


Katie provides audit, tax, and consulting solutions to sophisticated nonprofit organizations, including: multi-service human & social service providers, residential and day treatment agencies, early education and care (EEC) agencies, and independent schools. She has extensive experience auditing nonprofit organizations in accordance with Uniform Guidance/Single Audit and Government Auditing Standards as well as those with Massachusetts Uniform Financial Statement filing requirements.

She provides best practice recommendations on operational and internal control systems and processes to help clients’ mitigate fraud risks and gain operational efficiencies. She advises clients on compliance with federal and state grant requirements, and optimizing cost allocation methodologies and reimbursements for the best financial results. Katie ensures clients deadlines are met, and coordinates with AAFCPAs’ in-house tax strategists and healthcare reimbursement consultants as needed to bring the very best appropriate talent to our clients.

Katie is an active member of AAFCPAs’ Innovation Committee, and a member of the winning team in the firm’s inaugural Innovation Lab Changemaker Challenge. She is committed to championing our culture of continuous improvement and embracing change. She is a career coach through AAF’s Professional Accounting Development program, and an in-house trainer on diverse audit and compliance topics. Katie is an alumna of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce/ Simmons School of Management 2013-2014 Women’s Leadership Program, and a 2014 recipient of the MSCPA’s Annual Women to Watch Awards. She has been honored for making an outstanding contribution to the accounting profession, to her community and place of employment, and to the development of women as leaders. Katie joined AAFCPAs in 2006 upon graduation from Assumption College.
